Batagor Tahu Bumbu Kacang Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Batagor:
- 2 pieces of tofu (cut into small cubes)
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 8 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 1 egg
- 4 cloves of garlic (minced)
- Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Flavor enhancer to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (dissolved in 100 ml of water)
For the Peanut Sauce:
- 1/4 cup peanuts (fried beforehand)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Bird’s eye chilies to taste
- Sugar to taste
- Salt to taste
- Flavor enhancer to taste
- Squeeze of lime juice
- Sweet soy sauce
- Water
Instructions:
Preparing the Batagor:
- Cut the tofu into small cubes and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, tapioca flour, minced garlic, salt, pepper, egg, and the baking powder solution.
- Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes.
Preparing the Peanut Sauce:
- Using a blender, combine the fried peanuts, garlic, bird’s eye chilies, sugar, salt, and flavor enhancer. Blend until smooth.
- In a pan, heat a small amount of oil and sauté the blended peanut mixture. Add water to achieve your desired consistency.
- Add sweet soy sauce and lime juice to the sauce. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
Cooking the Batagor:
- Heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Shape the tofu mixture into small balls or patties.
- Fry the tofu balls/patties until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serving:
- Arrange the fried batagor on a serving plate.
- Pour the warm peanut sauce over the batagor.
- Garnish with additional sweet soy sauce and a squeeze of lime juice, if desired.
