Ayam Sauce Mentega Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 pound chicken (or chicken fillets)
  • 1/2 package Saori butter sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon sambal (chili sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 inch ginger, crushed
  • 4 bird’s eye chilies, sliced
  • 1/2 red chili, sliced
  • All-purpose seasoning flour
  • Salt, seasoning, sugar, and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Water as needed
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Cut the chicken into small pieces according to your preference. Marinate the chicken with lime juice and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Breading:

    • Divide the all-purpose seasoning flour into two portions. Mix one portion with a little water to create a wet batter, ensuring it’s not too runny. Leave the other portion as dry flour.
  3. Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Dip the marinated chicken pieces into the wet batter, then coat them with the dry flour, similar to preparing chicken for Kentucky-style frying. Fry the chicken in the pan with low heat until it is cooked through and evenly golden brown.
  4. Prepare the Aromatics:

    • While the chicken is frying, finely chop the garlic, slice the onion into half-moons, crush the ginger, and thinly slice the bird’s eye chilies and red chili.
  5. Cook the Aromatics:

    • In a separate pan, heat a combination of oil and butter. Add the garlic, onion, ginger, bird’s eye chilies, and red chili to the pan. Sauté until fragrant.
  6. Combine Ingredients:

    • Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan with the aromatics. Pour in the Saori butter sauce, sambal, and sesame oil. Season with salt, sugar, seasoning powder, and ground black pepper. Add a small amount of water to create a bit of sauce.
  7. Simmer and Finish:

    • Stir well and cook until the liquid reduces and thickens, coating the chicken pieces. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  8. Garnish and Serve:

    • If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish for a finishing touch. Serve the Ayam Sauce Mentega hot, perfect for breakfast or any meal.

Enjoy your flavorful Ayam Sauce Mentega with a delightful blend of savory, spicy, and tangy notes!
