Savory Indonesian Egg Crepe with Shrimp and Cheese

Kerak Telor [DEBM]

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons dried shrimp (ebi), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated cheese
  • 1 sachet of chili sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter or margarine for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, beat the egg and season with salt to taste.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or margarine, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.
  3. Pour the beaten egg into the skillet, spreading it evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the finely chopped dried shrimp evenly over the egg.
  5. Add the grated cheese on top, and then drizzle the chili sauce over the cheese.
  6. Cook until the egg is set and lightly golden, then carefully flip to cook the other side until crisp.
  7. Once cooked through and golden brown, remove from the skillet and serve immediately.
