Lemongrass 1 stalk, bruised
Tamarind To taste
Sugar To taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Cut the tempe into your desired shape; for this recipe, I recommend dicing it into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tempe until golden brown, then remove it from the oil and set aside.

  2. Slice the Aromatics: Finely slice the red and green chilies, garlic, shallots, and onion. Bruise the lemongrass to release its flavors.

  3. Tamarind Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the tamarind with a little water to create a liquid.

  4. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, heat a bit more oil and add the sliced garlic, shallots, onion, chilies, and bruised lemongrass. Sauté until fragrant.

  5. Combine Ingredients: Add the fried tempe to the sautéed mixture, stirring well to combine. Pour in the tamarind water and add Saori to taste. Adjust seasoning with sugar and salt as needed.

  6. Serve: Once everything is well mixed and heated through, serve your delicious Oseng Tempe alongside steaming hot rice for a satisfying meal.

Enjoy this ultimate dish that brings together the robust flavors of Indonesian cuisine, perfect for any meal!
