Overnight Egg-Sausage Bake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Night Before:

    • In a large bowl, combine Bisquick baking mix, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, ground mustard, and dried oregano leaves.
    • Crumble and cook pork sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain off excess fat.
    • Stir cooked sausage into the Bisquick mixture.
    • In a separate bowl, beat eggs and then stir into the mixture until well combined.
    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours.
  2. Baking:

    • When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
    • Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
    • Pour the egg-sausage mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
    • Bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • If you are baking at high altitude (3500-6500 ft), decrease Bisquick baking mix to 2/3 cup and bake for about 1 1/4 hours.
