Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Crisco shortening
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp Jack Daniel’s whiskey

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.

  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a saucepan, combine sugar, Crisco shortening, and water. Cook over low heat until it comes to a light boil. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. Mix Batter: Add eggs to the chocolate mixture one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add the flour mixture and chopped walnuts, stirring until well combined.

  5. Bake: Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.

  6. Cool and Glaze: Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, sprinkle the top evenly with Jack Daniel’s whiskey.

  7. Prepare Chocolate Glaze: In a small bowl, melt the remaining chocolate chips and butter together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Spread the chocolate glaze over the cooled brownies.

  8. Serve: Cut into squares and serve these decadent Jack Daniel’s Brownies as a delightful treat.

Enjoy these indulgent brownies with a hint of whiskey, perfect for any dessert occasion!
