Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • Salt or soy sauce, to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • A pinch of ground pepper
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: Chili peppers
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Beef: Begin by boiling the beef with a pinch of salt until it becomes tender. Once cooked, transfer the beef to a bowl of cold water to cool, then slice it thinly.

  2. Make the Marinade: While the beef is cooking, finely mince the garlic. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic with the sliced onion. Add the sweet soy sauce and honey to the mixture.

  3. Marinate the Beef: Mix the sliced beef with the garlic-onion mixture. Season with ground pepper and black pepper. If desired, add a splash of oyster sauce and adjust the seasoning with soy sauce or salt. Stir well and let it sit for a while to allow the flavors to meld.

  4. Cook the Beef: If using chili peppers, slice them thinly. Heat some butter or oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the chili peppers until they release their aroma. Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until everything is well combined and heated through. Adjust seasoning as needed.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if available. Serve hot and enjoy!
