Ingredients:

  • 1 block of white tofu
  • 3 chicken eggs
  • 1 handful of cabbage
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 shallots
  • 1 red chili
  • 4 bird’s eye chilies (leave whole)
  • Salt, sugar, ground pepper, and flavor enhancer to taste
  • Sweet soy sauce to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Begin by finely chopping the shallots and garlic. Thinly slice the red chili and leave the bird’s eye chilies whole for a burst of heat.

  2. Tofu: Cut the tofu into pieces as desired. Fry the tofu until it is golden and cooked through, then set aside.

  3. Eggs: Fry the eggs one by one, creating sunny-side-up eggs, and set aside.

  4. Sautéing the Aromatics: In a large pan, heat a small amount of oil. Add the chopped shallots, garlic, and sliced red chili. Sauté until the aromatics are fragrant and slightly golden.

  5. Cabbage: Add the sliced cabbage to the pan. Stir-fry until the cabbage is wilted and tender.

  6. Combining Ingredients: Add the fried tofu and eggs to the pan. Gently mix everything together, being careful not to break the eggs too much.

  7. Seasoning: Pour in a bit of water and add sweet soy sauce, salt, sugar, ground pepper, and a flavor enhancer if desired. Stir everything until well combined and the flavors are balanced.

  8. Finishing Touches: Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Allow the dish to cook for a few more minutes to ensure everything is well-coated with the sauce.

  9. Serving: Once everything is thoroughly mixed and heated through, your Tahu Telur Kubis Bumbu Kecap is ready to be served. Enjoy this delicious Indonesian-inspired dish as a main course or a delightful side.

This vibrant and flavorful dish combines the rich textures of tofu and eggs with the crunch of cabbage, all brought together by the sweet and savory notes of the soy sauce. Perfect for a quick meal, it’s sure to become a favorite in your culinary repertoire. Enjoy!
