Cook Time:

  • 10 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Begin by gathering all your spices. Take the dried ginger, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns and grind them in a mixer or spice grinder until they form a fine powder.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients—nutmeg powder, cloves, and dried basil leaves—into the grinder. Continue grinding until you achieve a smooth and uniform powder.

  3. Once the Indian Chai Masala Powder is ready, transfer it to an airtight container and store it at room temperature. The masala powder will remain fresh for several months, allowing you to use it whenever you need a flavorful boost in your tea.

  4. To use the masala powder, simply add a small spoonful to your regular tea while brewing, and enjoy a delightful, spiced cup of Indian Chai.

Notes:

  • You can adjust the quantities of the spices based on your personal preference. For a spicier chai, increase the amount of black pepper or ginger.
  • This chai masala powder is not limited to just tea. It can also be added to desserts or used as a seasoning for various dishes to impart a warm, aromatic flavor.
